Like any tv show, Merlin uses a few main filming locations that appear in each episode, and then various alternate locations for single episodes. One unusual feature of Merlin, however, is that the episodes are filmed in blocks of three or four; an alternate location might therefore be used for two or more episodes in one block.

We have a number of scenes for which we don’t know the location… but we also have a number of locations for which we don’t know the episode or scene. These places have been mentioned as filming locations in newspaper articles and the like, without any further details or hints being given as to what exactly was filmed there.
